I’m having trouble shutting down my awesome droid. It worked fine indoors for a few weeks, now it happens all the time. Everything will be fine and will not go anywhere, it will also turn off when looping, turn off again several times before the end, you will find a restart. On a few occasions, you might have had a “factory reset” as all apps have been wiped and released after being turned off and closed.
I’ve tried minimizing all installed applications to make sure the problem is not in the enterprise and that the problem persists. The most important things in a phone are those that have been set up for mass popularity (assistant contacts backup, gmail account, facebook and twitter account, yahoo email account and therefore twitter) and it always happens. Verizon sent a replacement phone and it happened 3 times in the first 3 days and I wasn’t even allowed to install apps.
Has anyone encountered this problem, know the likely cause, or hopefully a fix?

I have an HTC Droid Incredible.
Last night, 10/24/2014, I was walking with my phone in my back pocket, and out of nowhere it said “DROID!”. It’s like it’s rebooting itself. Since then, the following keep rebooting up to the point where “DROID!” and the whole eyeball appears, and two spots freeze on the correct size of the eyeball. If he stays there for a while, everything will start all over again. The only way to avoid this is to remove the battery, although when I put it back in (immediately or after a few hours) it gets stuck in my loop.
I haven’t done anything to my phone since I got it years ago and all the updates have been sent to HTC/Verizon about the air conditioner. No root or anything like that, just standard automatic updates.
According to online research, a factory reset is the only way to fix this, and that’s fine… except that the phone’s memory holds data that I’ve lost just in case you’re planning on doing this.If you reset your settings, all duplicate content will be removed. removed.
So:
1. Can this problem be solved without factory reset?
2. If not… is there a way to fully boot the phone after a one time boot so that I can safely restore these photos before doing a factory reset?
3. If not… is there another way to disable all images before/after a system reset?Here is what is written on the HBOOT computer screen:

Good welcome to Central! Android Try booting into recovery mode and clearing the main cache partition, which hardly erases personal data. Follow the instructions in this video instead of searching Wipe Data/Factory Reset make sure everyone has selected Wipe Cache Partition. When done, select Reboot system now.

“Reboot system now”…and you should “DROID!” and an eyeball, as well as a frozen red dot on the right side of the eyeball, and then restarting after a while
< /p>I don’t know if it matters, but when I first turn it on, my phone turns into a white computer with “HTC Incredible” written in solid green, and then a white TV with a green HTC logo in black text that says “amazingly brilliant” . . Every two cycles after the last reboot, the frozen eyeball jumps straight to this white screen with the green HTC Custom logo and “incredibly brightin black.
Can I say that the fact that the cache is cleared to work says something or even narrows down much of the problem? Is the multiplier the next step to aim for now?

Of course I don’t know if you can avoid factory reset. The best other thing I’m stuck with right now is to disable the name and eject the SD card in case it gets corrupted in any way.

I’ve resigned myself to eventually having to do some sort of factory reset. This thread sheds light on restoring an image after a reset:

This thread is 3 years old, but definitely something to see.When it’s time to restore the factory settings, ifIs there anything else at this point besides choosing “wipe data/factory reset” in recovery mode?
Lesson learned: set up saving the necessary items to the SD card.
